Chantrey Conservation Architects Ltd

Our Work

From minor repair and conservation projects through to much larger re-ordering and new design schemes, we find our work exciting and inspiring.

Design

Contemporary design and sensitive additions to historic buildings are some of the most innovative and challenging aspects of our work. Sometimes simple additions or minor alterations can unlock a building's potential and we can help you secure Planning Permission to achieve this. Environmental considerations and Zero Carbon targets are a particular focus in all our design work.

 Conservation

The repair of heritage buildings is central to our work, with sensitive and pragmatic conservation at the heart of our approach. We are experienced in traversing the complexities of Listed Building Consent, List B Approval and Faculty processes and can help you secure these consents. Consultancy services can be provided and projects overseen on site when required.

Re-ordering

We can prepare Option Appraisals and Feasibility Studies to help you explore design ideas. Once consents are secured, we can develop detailed design, tender the works and administer the contract on site. When instructed, we can also act as the Principal Designer to assist you with discharging your Health & Safety duties as required by the CDM Regs and the Building Safety Act.

QQ Inspections

Marcus is a registered and conservation accredited Inspecting Architect in the Bath & Wells, Bristol, Exeter, Salisbury and London Dioceses. Having carried out approximately 250 inspections, he is highly experienced and always keen to hear from churches looking to appoint a new Inspecting Architect. A copy of a typical QQ Inspection report can be supplied upon request.
